Dr. Patrick Wu received his Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from Queen’s University and is a Doctorate of Optometry graduate at the Illinois College of Optometry. During his training, he completed an ocular disease externship in Chicago, Illinois where he worked with optometrists and ophthalmologists, including retinal and corneal specialists, cataract surgeons and neuro-ophthalmologists.
Dr. Wu is dedicated to building a strong rapport with his patients while providing excellent eye care and patient education. He has participated in eye care missions in Honduras and hopes to go on more missions in the future. He is also a member of the Canadian and Alberta Association of Optometrists as well as the Calgary Society of Optometrists.
He is a valuable part of the team when providing pre-season testing during the Calgary Flames development camp for both the main team and the Stockton Heat members. At the Bridgeland clinic, Dr. Wu brings his experience to the Vision Therapy team by providing all initial assessments for referred patients and monitoring their progress incrementally throughout their recommended sessions.
Dr. Wu is a Toronto native who recently moved to Calgary after getting married. He enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking and road cycling. He also enjoys cooking, playing guitar and is an avid basketball, baseball and hockey fan.
